The Father and Son (and friends)

2012

For 2012, my son and I (and a friend) will be attempting to put a full 1000 miles under our feet in an overall fitness effort.

There is only one rule:

All mileage must be physical running, hiking swimming, walking, crawling… as long as you are moving your body forward unassisted by a device (no bikes, rollerblades ect)  treadmills are okay.
(No treadmills allowed for Hogan and Ken)

KEN

HOGAN

HENRIK

ADRIAN

*The Graphs will be updated once per month. The current numbers are listed below.

KEN: 40 Miles (8200 ft EG)

HOGAN: 55 Miles (2000 ft EG)

HENRIK: 56 Miles

ADRIAN: 65 Miles

Okay Adrian! Get ready, we only have 6 weeks until we kick this thing off!!!

  2. Linda

wow… That’s a big penalty for not walking in 3 days!

  3. Ken Kiser

It’s got to be a big penalty. On this schedule if you fall too far behind it will be impossible to catch up.

  4. Lox

Took my first steps in the challenge today, dude. Jogged 7,4 miles, or 12 km’s, from my village to the next one and back. You better keep up with me! ;)

  11. Lox

And here I thought it was me having trouble keeping up with you, dude. Hahaha. XD

  12. Hogan K

Did a 2 mile run today, couldn’t run entire thing at once had to stop to take a breather for about 2 minute total maybe for entire thing, took me 33 minutes.

  17. Lox

14,9 mile hike today, backpack and all. Almost like being back in the Army. XD

  18. Ken Kiser

Now, THAT’S a big workout, Lox!

  19. Lox

Hahaha, thanks, man. I’m fairly certain my legs are going to regret it tomorrow, though. XD

  20. Hogan K

Another 2 miles for Hogan. I’ll catch up eventually <_<

  21. Ken Kiser

Tomorrow is the end of week #1. To be on pace for 1000, we needed just a hair over 19 miles for the week. So, it looks like we are doing fine. Hogan is a little bit behind, but with his plan, he will make up the lost ground pretty quickly as his fitness level improves. So, no worries there either. Good job guys.

  22. Hogan K

2 miles for me again. :] and yes I’ll make up lost miles soon enough

  23. Lox

Good job, you guys, too! :D I’m hitting another 12 km run today for an additional 7 miles. Tuesday is due for another hike. XD

  24. Ken Kiser

Post it when you do it. Can’t update based on what we “plan” to do. lol

  25. Lox

Hahaha, true, that. XD Anyways, 12 km a la 7,4 miles now officially done. XD

  26. Ken Kiser

Dang, Lox is leaving me behind. It’s windy out there today, not sure if I want to go out. Plus just being lazy.

  27. Lox

Hahahaha, nah, man, I’m just making sure I have the buffer miles to allow myself a few days off when it’s crappy weather, so that you don’t leave ME behind. XD

  28. Ken Kiser

Did 8 miles today with 1500 ft EG

  29. Hogan K

Another 2 miles for me not so great on time but it’ll get easier soon.. I hope.

  30. Lox

Damnit, you guys are catching up. >_>

  31. Hogan K

  32. Hogan K

3 miles this morning. Hard Run.

  33. Hogan K

Another 3 miles today… Am I the only one doing this anymore o.o

  34. Lox

Sorry for the lack of competing from my side. There’s been shitty weather over here (a storm), so running and hiking have been out of the question. Hopefully, I’ll get a few miles under the belt tomorrow if weather isn’t too shitty. :D

  35. Hogan K

2 miles 21 minutes, wasn’t in a running mood. Gonna see if I can do another 3 tonight sometime though.

  36. Lox

9 miles hiking for me today. It was cold and windy outside, so a planned 25 km hike turned into a 15 km hike. Oh well. XD

  37. Ken Kiser

Dang it. last place and behind schedule. That’s what I get for being lazy.

  38. Lox

Hahaha, you and me both. I guess I’ll have to ditch the laziness and go for a jog tomorrow. XD

  39. Hogan K

2 miles horrible time still not quite over being sick.

  40. Hogan K

    5 more miles for today.
Gonna be doing 5 mile days from here on out, will bump that up once I’m feeling good doing those. Starting to push for much better run times from today on too.

(God damn it, they’re catching up!!! >_> )

  43. Hogan K

  44. Ken Kiser

Walked about 5 miles on the Las Vegas strip today with my wife. I can’t really call it hard-core exercise, but I’m gonna give myself 2 miles for the effort. City-hike. Seems fair.

  45. Lox

Need to get off my ass again so I’m planning a hike for tomorrow. Probably will clock in at around 20 km or so. I’ll let y’all know afterwards how much it amounted to.

  46. Lox

Pushed forward to tomorrow, since I’ll be hiking with my mom’s boyfriend. He recruited me to it when we went to the gym together today, so I decided not to hike today and take it tomorrow instead.
